Taska

Taska

Taska is an open-source todo list web app that runs entirely in your browser.

It stores all your data locally using Local Storage, so your tasks never leave your device. Everything loads almost instantly — no servers, no sync delays, no accounts. Just you and your tasks.

How It Started

For a while, I used Linear as my main todo app because I liked its clean interface. But their free plan only allowed 200 tasks, and it had way more features than I actually needed.

Then I tried GitHub Projects, since I spend a lot of time on GitHub anyway. It worked at first, but over time, it got frustrating — the site felt slow, and I couldn’t view my tasks offline.

I couldn’t find a tool that really fit what I wanted, so I decided to build one myself. That’s how Taska began: a simple, fast, offline-first todo list designed around the features I actually use.

How It’s Going

I’ve used Taska for a few months, but I also started building a new app as its successor, with more features and improvements. That successor is Tasklytics.

What’s Next

Development for Taska is paused since I’m focusing on the successor, but the source code is public on GitHub, so anyone can fork it and customize it for their own needs.
